Today in the AZ, a report appeared on the Architecture Week 15n by Sia (www.15n.ch), were interviewed, Daniel Kündig, president of SIA.
Question: The SIA should launch a postulate: Architecture and architectural criticism as a subject! You hear critical listening, discussing literature, picked apart an opera or theater en, goes to shows. Only houses are not looked at - except art history major.
D. Kündig: art history and the monuments, yes. But architecture and architectural criticism is not an issue - even though it affects our authoritative designed habitat. There is a school project by the BSA and SIA, but that's not enough. Society and politics do not know the value of the built environment. The excellent education at Swiss universities and the high craftsmanship at risk (...)
How you look is that? Must architecture school subject, the subject must be promoted? Endanger these "ignorance" of the population of our profession?
